USFEC members follow a Code of Practices that ensures that product is safe and of the highest quality.
The Code has been developed in consultation with overseas customers and include the following points:
All USFEC members have a traceability system for export products, including a history of chemical application, and will provide this information for any product failing to meet import standards.
USFEC members work closely with growers to follow all labeling instructions, to adhere to international standards for Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs), and to follow applicable government regulations.
USFEC members participate in the organization’s annual testing program, where forage products are randomly tested for chemical residue.
USFEC members also abide by additional practices specific to Japan and China, to ensure that product meets the requirements of each market.
USFEC works closely with government agencies in both the U.S. and overseas to anticipate, understand and follow all regulations.
